This piece marked a turning point in my carving practice. I spent weeks working on this piece! I didn’t know how to use the clippers and they were also too big for the precision that I needed. I spent an outrageous amount of time with it inches away from my eyeballs and covered in little itty yarn bits. Opening and closing those scissors with what I hoped was great precsion - hundreds and thousands of times.
I’m pretty sure I have a permanent callous on my right hand and I had to invest in a better pair of scissors but I did it! I'm so proud of the work this one took and how it came out :)
I finished the work with a tag and ornamental edging, the back looks like a Christmas ornament too!
